Animated documents on life and work of Jan Amos Comenius
The life story and the most famous work of Jan Amos Comenius, Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart, has also been dealt with in modern animated documents.
Comenius lived to see at least three plague epidemics and had to cope with their implications. Today we experience similar situation as Comenius did, that’s why his advice can also be utilized. A project prepared by Nový život 2000 – Prime Net, Czech Wells z.s., Film 21 and PTL s.r.o. companies and entitled Hundred Years Roots 1918-2018, came into being in the year of the centenary of existence of independent Czechoslovak state. It is an animated story featuring the life of Comenius, presented by actor Jiří Lábus.

In the coming autumn Czech TV will feature an animated series Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart created by the České studny, z.s. in co-production with the FILM 21 company. It is compiled of 26 five-minute parts of a tragicomic allegory with an actual over-lap to the real world of today’s people.
The book Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart was published 123 times and in the Czech Republic it is commonly known. The main objective of the creators was to exploit the popularity of Comenius and hand his message over to the Czech nation through an attractive and entertaining form of an animated series.
The script was written by Adam Parma on the basis of the Comenius’ book. Dialogues are read by famous actors Jiří Lábus and Oldřich Kaiser, illustrations painted by Daniel Jurčo. The project is professionally guaranteed by comeniologist, associate professor Jan Hábl, PhD. and specialised consultant, comeniologist Jiří Beneš, PhDr.
